Véronique Vivier (BA) UNISA, 1990, with over 15 years’ as a French Translator, Interpreter and Technical Writer, has extensive experience in the legal, mining, environmental and educational fields. She speaks English, French and Afrikaans fluently and has worked, apart from the many regions of South Africa, in France, the Bahamas and the Comores Islands. She is a French Sworn Translator of the High Court of South Africa, a member of the South African Translators’ and Editors’ Institute and an Accredited Translator for the French Consulate of South Africa. She is the sole proprietor of The Translator and her extensive experience in translations renders her qualified to manage any translation project from start to finish.

Fred Favard (N Dip For), 1990, has over 22 years’ experience in forestry and fire management. He has gained considerable experience in Sustainable Forestry Management in third world countries. He is presently the National Training Manager for the Working on Fire Programme, a State-funded Initiative aimed at empowering unemployed youths across South Africa. He is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, Afrikaans and Zulu. He is the editor of the book Veld and Forest Firefighting Fundamentals and the author of The South African Physical Fitness Training Handbook for Firefighters. The Translator uses his expertise extensively for documents related to forestry, sustainable development and disaster management.
Américo Ferreira, Hons BCom (UNISA) 1992, Portuguese-born, majored in Business Economics and Economics (University of Lourenço Marques – Mozambique). He has extensive experience in managing companies in Mozambique, Angola and South Africa.
Hortense Ferreira was born in Mozambique and has a Diploma in Administration and Commerce, Escola Commercial Dr. Azevedo e Silva (Mozambique),1994. She has specialized experience in general and financial Accounting. The Translator uses their expertise extensively in their respective fields as well as in the Portuguese language.
Michelle Jirard is based in Mussidan, France and has over 25 years’ experience in translations and is a Sworn Translator of the High Court of S.A. She writes articles for numerous publications, works as a Cultural Tour Guide in the South of France and as a freelance Translator, specialising in French culture and education.
Cyrille Mutombo has a Diploma in Swahili Translation from the Institute of Kindu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a Sworn Translator of the DRC Notary Services and specializes in French/English to Swahili translations His areas of expertise include the mining, legal, and economics sectors. He is presently based in South Africa and his vast knowledge of the DRC, the Swahili language and the mining sector render him an asset to The Translator.
